About the Community Voice Newspaper
Seventeen issues of the Community Voice were published in Bend, Oregon from 1982 to 1983. Founding editors were Bob Almquist and Duane Poncy, Managing Editor was Duane Poncy, and the initial editorial board included Bob Almquist, Ivar Shuholm. In 1983, an editorial collective was formed that included Bob Almquist, Amy Craig-Cavallero, Rhoda Dendron, Chris Hughes, Duane Poncy, and Ivar Shuholm. The paper was a project of the Coalition for Democratic Alternatives and partially funded by a grant from the McKenzie River Gathering. The newspaper covered a wide range of local issues from a left perspective.
